Merry Christmas!!!

When I think of words that describe the way I feel this time of year, thankful comes to the top of the list. My children, my wife, my job, my home, and cars. My extended family, my computer, my iPhone, my guns, my freedom, my vacations, my boat, my....insert meaningless materialistic item here. Wow, I am so very blessed! Why is it, I can still find silly things to complain about? I let minor inconviences annoy me. I need perspective, or a swift kick in the head. What I really need, is to get off my behind, and do something that doesn't refer to me. This Friday, Christmas Day, we are going to the Community Rescue Mission in Ft. Smith to serve lunch. I pray that this isn't a one time thing that we do for ourselves to make us feel good. Hopefully, we gain the perspective we need, to build off the experience. This must become a movement in our community to help those less fortunate and generate sustainable momentum towards a goal of victory through Jesus. We aren't going to preach. We are going to help and love. If you would like to join us, meet there at 11am Friday. After all, it's Jesus' birthday.

Awesome work day!

Thanks to all the guys that helped out on Saturday. It's starting to shape up! I'll post some pictures soon!

Trying to be high tech can be a challenge!

Working on syncing calendars, Twitter updates, blog posts, events, meeting invitations, and organizing music on the website requires about 16 applications on my phone and computer. Not complaining just confused. Feeling dumb.... Anyone good at HTML?

Feats of Strength Olympics

Trying to come up with some good man fun. What are some good events that anyone could be a part of that would provide a lot of fun with great brotherhood, and maybe show some young kids what real men do? It would of course include some grilling, competition, fellowship, and a chance to help someone learn a new skill. Be thinking about it. I'm thinking of an away game, non-televised Razorback weekend.

Truckstop Strategy Meeting

What an awesome meeting tonight! Aside from some calorie talk and some salads at the table, it was a pretty manly meeting. Here is a list of some of the atrocities I witnessed.
Salads: Bryan, Ed, Scott - there may have been a forth, but I can't remember.
Calorie Counters: Bryan and Scott
Couldn't rise to the occasion: Bronson - a bottle of Hot Sauce could have easily been consumed for 5 bucks, but he totally wussed out.
Bon Jovi Ring Tone: Bryan - redeemed himself with some Def Lep ring tones in the mix.

Other than that, there was a lot of gravy at the table that brought the man level back into the safe zone.

The guts of the meeting:
1) We are so blessed.
2) Time to quit waiting to honor God.
3) We want to start making a difference by acting different and getting involved.

Commitments:
1) Wes - Will contact the boys and girls club and get in the loop.
2) Everyone will do something nice for someone without them knowing. (Important:and not tell anyone else what they did.)

This doesn't capture the meeting fully but gets a lot of it down while it's fresh. More updates soon!
